Martys Cry starts with a bump in the night, a restless dog and a mysterious ghostly visitor. A newspaper appears decribing the death of a lost love. Bishop John Wesley Hunter is awakened in the middle of the night by these events. At 3:27 a.m. to be specific. That time weaves through the theme as the story continues and the plot thickens. A murder has been committed and the ghost of the lost love is asking for help from the good Bishop.
Their love is rekindled in an unusual way and they go on the hunt for the killers who blew up the church where the lost love, Heather (Pastor Heather Beeson) was killed in an explosion of the church she pastored. The death was ruled as a suicide. The presence and cry for help from Heather involves another myserty involving a daughter and an ex-husband. A trip to the scene in Denver, Colorado by the Bishop and Heather uncovers many unsavory characters involved in a plot to silence the sweet community involved Heather. She has a sincere desire to help those around her and ruffles the feathers of the traditional church leaders and becomes what they might call a liability because she will not play their church politics. | ||
