Book Review By Sriram Gopalan
Game Plan by Charles Wilson

A government sponsored research to improve human intelligence is underway at a remote site in Montana. Computer chips are implanted into the human brain to artificially improve intelligence. The volunteers are convicts serving their long sentences in jail. The experiment is a success. But the convicts escape, destroying the undergroung facility.

Few years later, in Missisipi, a doctor is murdered in broad daylight at his research center. Young doctor Spence Stevens, a close friend and former student of his murdered colleague sets out to find the killers. Spence's friend and private investigator Joey helps him in finding the truth. His search leads him to the Montana lab site and eventually up against the convicts themselves. The convicts, now with different identities are placed at high positions in the socitey. With their unparalled intelligence, they are in the process of creating a new human kind by implanting computer chips in the brains of high profile people and eventually taking control of everything.
Joey gets himself killed after finding out the secrets and Spence is all alone in his quest to find the truth.
