Leah's Way by Richard Botelho

Leah Caffrey is born into a family with good intentions, but her mother Margaret is an overbearing, stern disciplinarian who dominates her household. Leah's father Walton is mild-mannered and acquiesces to Margaret's wishes. Leah can't wait to escape small town Nashville in the 1950s, especially after she is unceremoniously dumped by her first love, Blake. But she has faith that God will see her through. In a hurried marriage of desperation, she marries a professional baseball player and moves to her dream destination of California. There, after having a son, her marriage falls apart and ends in divorce after she has an affair with an attorney. For years, Leah tries to find love again with a number of men; most use her and eventually she decides to live a life on the road. As she travels the country, she seeks an answer to the meaning of life, a quest she has sought since her childhood. But her money is dwindling and her health deteriorating. Leah's Way is the story of one woman's journey through life and her search to find justification and love. Will she ever find the answer she seeks?
