Kate Powell is an attractive accountant who is very focused on her job and her family. She was raised by the Templetons of Templeton Hotels. She has money, so when she is accused of stealing from her firm, she is outraged and devastated.

Byron DeWitt replaces Kate's sister's ex-husband at Templeton Hotels and falls for Kate as soon as he sees her. He seduces her and despite her resistance, she falls for him as well. With Byron's help, she conviences the police she is innocent, and she confesses to Byron and her family that her father was accused of the same thing before his death.

Byron decides he can't go another day without Kate, and proposes to her. Kate is afraid and runs off, afraid to make a commitment. Will she come to her senses and find the love she never knew she wanted?
