Rafe McCay is an accused murder running from the law. When he is shot and needs medical attention, he kidnaps a female doctor named Annie. Annie cares for him and hates that she has fallen in love with him, but he has fallen in love with her too. She loses her virginity to him, and later kills a bounty hunter who finds him.
After the bounty hunter is killed, they take off through the wilderness. In Mexico they come across an Indian camp where everyone is sick and dying. Annie has a special power for healing people and saves as many as she can. While they are there she becomes pregnant, and a federal marshall catches up with them. The marshall believes their story that Rafe was framed by a powerful mogul and they set out to clear his name. Rafe and Annie get married, and with the help of Jefferson Davis, they recover some of the lost papers of the Confederate President four years after the war has ended. But will they be able to clear Rafe's name and save him from execution, or will Annie's baby grow up without a father? | ||
