Book Review By Rachael High
Sort of Forever by Sally Warner

Cady and Nana are about to enter eighth grade. They have been best friends for a long time, but life gets complicated when Nana is diagnosed with cancer. Throughout all of her treatments Cady stays with her, and even gives Nana a Fourth of July picnic in her hospital room.

Their friendship is tested when Nana becomes so sick and weak that she can barely talk. She is sick from her chemo and gets grouchy, and Cady struggles with her feelings of guilt when she finds it hard to be around Nana anymore. Nana slips into a coma, and Cady has to say goodbye to her.
