In the year 2120 Jack Thunder is a young fighter pilot who has just joined the ranks of the United States Space Force. He is posted to the space carrier USS Challenger where he meets up with his old friend/rival Red Styler and the veteran pilot Trey Knight. He also meets the Challengers Commander, the heroic Captain Doran and the Challenger's fiesty first officer, the beautiful April Kelley.

Major fleet engagements are fought in orbit around the planets Neptune and Saturn.
