Jondular wants to travel back to his home, and there is a very long even dangerous journey ahead in this book. Their odyssey spans a beautiful but sparsely populated and treacherous continent, the windswept grasslands of Ice Age Europe, casting the pair among strangers. Some will be intrigued by Ayla and Jondular, and others, are not so sure about them; threatened by what they cannot understand. But Ayla, with no memory at all of her own people, and Jondular, with a hunger to return to his, are compelled to keep going on the journey ahead until they reach his home."
