This book is about the main character Nick dealing with his grandfather's terminal illness and his feeling about World War1 which he served in. Nick also has to cope with his family where he has childen from a previous marriage, and also step children and the problems and conflicts which arise from such a fragmented family life.... Regeneration Dr Rivers is researching the mental effects of war at the Craig Lockhart Institute where he meets Sassoon, poet and concientious objector. Will his patients be permanently damaged by war, or will they be able to overcome their difficulties and achieve 'regeneration'?...
