I now have a copy of The Countess of Romanones new book, END OF AN ERA. This was graciously given to me by my friend Roseanne Piraneo Hill. It is wonderful! I hope all of you get to read it!

In the SPY WORE RED, the Countess waa trained at what was called, "The farm". The farm was also called RTU. There were many sections of the farm, such as sections A,B.C.D.E.F. and these were all seperated teaching special training in things, such as special type operations, cypher coding, etc. If any of you stateside order movies from NETFLIX, the following movie: Garbo: The SPY is now available and the Countess is featured four different times speaking about the OSS. This is an extremely well done, different documentary with a wonderfully different sort of soundtrack. Kudos, to Aline, the Countess of Romanones.

Thank you "Elderly Friend", and I hope we do get a sequel. Living in Spain in 1961, opened my eyes to Franco. I learned so very much about his politics. Hopefully Aline will write another book, and then we will have even more to chat about regarding Aline, The Countess of Romanones. Although she is in the media so often we can keep up with her.

Dear Anita, I'm pleased you enjoyed the book and I do hope the author writes a sequel. Here is one I actually fear reading: THE SPANISH HOOLOCAUST by Paul Preston. It was reviewed in the NYTimes Book Review. As one who has visited Spain several times and has Spanish friends, I was saddened to learn how bad Franco and his supporters were; as cruel as the Nazis. Guess we best stick with novels: the truth is too had to stomach! Bye,

To My Elderly Friend: I spent hours for 3 days reading The Time In Between which was a fantastic novel that I could hardly put down. Duenas' plot and storyline is remarkable and the facts seem correct and some of the characters of course are real. Suner, Hoare, etc. I could not help but notice that some of the things I read about, ie. her, the Social gatherings Siri attended were reminiscent, & so much like ALine's in her books. I hope the Countess has read this book, which I suspect she has. Thank you "Elderly Friend" for suggesting I read it.

October Mist, I too cannot wait until a movie about the Countess hits the Theatres. I hope that it will happen while she is alive and kicking. I too, read every book I can get my hands on regarding Spies, espionage,CIA,FBI,Iterpol, etc. In the Countesses new book published in Spain, she has a chapter dedicated to her stories about the Windsors, and I am trying hard to decipher. Eager to read it all.

I enjoy all of the Countess' books however embellished they are in my opinion. She also confirmed a lot of what I have read in other spy books like Blowing My Cover, a true modern day female CIA spy story. I have also read Chuck Barris' book in which he claimed that the CIA fronted the Dating Game AND that he was a hired gun. Some may find it hard to believe but it has the ring of truth. I can hardly wait for a movie about the Countess and yes, she looks fabulous!

Thank you so much and I am "off to get the book." I am still looking for a copy of Aline's new book and hope it will soon be published in the U.S.

Dear Anita: I recently completed an exceptional novel set in Spain during that country's Civil War and in the early years of WW II as England and Germany spied on one another as they attempted to influence Spain's dictator, Franco. The book iS THE TIME IN BETWEEN and the author Maria Duenas, a professor at Spain's University of Murcia. The book is well-plotted and though quite long it never lags. Her characters are well-developed, some even based on real persons. But what is especially significant is that the author has done her research and the time, places and events are factual. In fact, she even included a bibliography at the end of the story, something memoirists of this period fail to do. Best wishes, and I hope you read and enjoy THE TIME IN BETWEEN.

In response to the question about the health of the Countess, I can assure you that she is in good health, and is still a vivacious woman. She is still very active, positve, cheerful, and on top of things as she always has been. Therfore, I hope this answers your questions. I might add as a former professional model, she still looks like a "model" today. We should all be so lucky!
