I came across these graves in about 1980 and made tracings of them at that time. I still have those tracings. Very interesting.

I came across the graves two days ago. Incredibly beautiful view. I took photos. I read Zane Grey's books as a child. How I would love to hear the stories your grandmother told.

In case anyone wonders, Susie Hayden is Ben Copple's mother (my great grandmother), and was full blooded Modoc from N California/Oregon.

Actually, you have the dates wrong. susie Hayden's grave is 1840-1947; she was 93. Benjamin's dates are different, right next to her.

Ben Copple was my great uncle on my mother's side. I would love to learn more about him. I remember my mother loved to tell the story passed down from her father about Ben being a scout for Zane Grey.

Near Cornville, Arizona on a fairly remote hill is the grave stone of Benjamin Franklin Copple (1847-1940) with the inscription; Guide to Zane Grey. Where can I find information about Copple?
