Back to the Divide Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Back to the Divide

Felix is a fourteen year old boy who lives in London with his mother and father. Shortly after returning from an adventure in a world reached by crossing the Continental Divide, Felix encounters Snakeweed, a villianous pixie from the world over the divide who wants to steal Felix's spell used to cross the divide. Snakeweed turns Felix's parents to marble to persuade Felix to give him the spell. Felix soon realizes that anything living that touches his parents will turn to marble as well. So Felix decides that the only way to stop his whole city from turning to marble is to travel to the world across the divide, where magic is performed, and find a spell to break the chain reaction and turn his parents back to normal. Felix's friends, Ironclaw the griffon and Betony the elf, help him along with many other mythical creatures to battle Snakeweed's obstacles. Even though they have to fight bloodthirsty bats, sandstorms, deadly puzzles, and Snakeweed himself, Felix and his friends manage to find a cure.
