arth's population has been nearly wiped out by a race of large aliens. They possess technologies feared by most other alien federations. In a few words, it is about an average man who gradually sees the big picture and won't stop until earth is free.

This is a good, BIG book, which describes the earth at the year 3000: wild primitive human tribes live in the wild, their ancient ruined cities laying untouched for about a thousand years... only Jonny Goodboy can save the earth from the Psychlos... the same race that so brutally destroyed the advanced human civilization more than a thousand years ago. And what for? To mine gold from the earth's crust.
Jonny, with the help of a others, not only manage to outsmart the evil Terl, the Psychlo security chief, but also manage to destroy the vast Psychlo empire completely, AND buy the earth from the Galactic Bank just in time before other races pay for it.
