In Blood Canticle, we see a continuation of the events depicted in Blackwood Farm, only this time the main focus turns once more to the lBrat Prince, Lestat. With his newly made Coven of Quinn Blackwood and Mona Mayfair, Lestat takes on the task of searching for Mona's lost mutant child, an unhuman creature, a Taltos. By making such a promise, Lestat is swept up into the world of the Mayfair Clan, and unavoidably comes into contact with the veritable "head witch" herself, Rowan Mayfair, and her husband Michael Curry. Lestat immediately falls in love with Rowan, a love that he must struggle with throughout the entire book.

Knopf, Nov 2003, 25.95, 320 pp.
The vampire Lestat wants to be on the side of the angels. He proves it again and again when he and Merrick Mayfair help destroy Quinn's evil doppelganger Goblin.
At Blackwood Farm, he helps a trapped spirit move into the light instead of being trapped between worlds. When Mona begs Lestat to find her Taltos daughter, he calls upon the mother of all vampires to help him locate the land of the Taltos. When they reach the Caribbean Island where they are held prisoners by drug lords, he liberates them and brings them back to Rowan Mayfair the woman he truly loves but will not touch.
