Prince Rupert is sent on a quest to prove his worth by slaying a dragon. It dosn't go well, he was supposed to ride off into the sunset and rid the kingdom of an unwanted second son. Instead he returns bringing with him the hungry dragon and a princess with a wicked left hook.

While he's been gone the kingdom has gone from bad to worse and the blue moon is rising heralding the return of the demon king. Rupert's ridiculed at court, despised by his older brother Harold and ignored by the king. Despite this he wins the love of the princess and banishes the demon king, becoming a true hero.
