She had to live alone in a tower so as not to be seen except when they had thier rituals. She managed to escape with the help of a native. She finds employment with a wealthy family as the servant to the daughter. Angelique and Josette become friends as well. During this time Angelic falls in love with a soldier by the name of Barnabas Collins. He must leave to go to war and promises her he will be back for her.
