Trever steals them a ship and they barely escape the spaceport to Acherin, a former Separatist world now fighting the Empire. Raina Quill a commander in the Acherin resistance forces their ship down to protect them from landing too far behind enemy lines. She leads the Jedi and Trever to the last stronghold on Acherin, Eluthan, where they meet the resistance leader, Toma. Ferus and Raina hop into fighters to help the Acherin but the battle is lost, there are just too many Imperial ships. They return to the hangar collect Obi-Wan, Trever, and Toma and blast off. Raina's forced to fly into a storm to lose their pursuers.
Inside that storm, they find an asteroid with an atmosphere that could be habitable. Raina and Toma agree to stay behind while Obi-Wan goes to Polis Massa to protect Padme Amidala's secret, that of the birth of the twins. Obi-Wan fights Inquisitor Sancor in order to protect that secret.
Meanwhile, Ferus and Trever go to Ilum to seek out the Jedi Garen. In the caves on Ilum, Ferus must face down his fears and a whole nest of gorgodons. He manages to fight his way through and find Garen who tells him that another Jedi, Fy-Tor-Ana, went to Coruscant and never came back. After battling Imperial stormtroopers just outside the cave, Ferus is rescued by Trever.
Obi-Wan meets Garen, Trever, and Ferus on Ilum and they head towards that safe asteroid they'd just come from. Raina and Toma agree to stay and help set up the Jedi secret base. Obi-Wan is torn but he knows he must return to Tatooine to watch over young Luke Skywalker. Ferus must continue the quest to rescue the Jedi and that quest leads him and Trever to Coruscant.
