Volume 1 of The Forever Hero.   He was a product of Old Earth's ruins. He was captured by the Empire and trained to be a combat soldier. He was too smart and independent for the military, so they sent him back to the polluted, devastation of Old Earth. He is determined to bring Earth back, regardless of what it takes.
