One of the victims was co-owner, with his sister, of a billion dollar Software Company; and the sister wants revenge, Monticello is set up and as a result, electrocuted. Although he is pronounced dead, he doesn't die and now the warden must cover his ass. Monticello is taken from the prison morgue, driven to Phoenix, Arizona and left in a seedy hotel to die.
The mystery surrounding the execution has left Monticello a form of telepathy and given him a new lease on life; he is able to read minds. Monticello launches a lucrative gambling career; six years later he is a family man and only frequents banks to deposit his winnings. Innocently trapped in a bank during an attempted robbery, the world, especially the victim's sister, now know he is alive. But Monticello's power is more telekinetic than telepathic. He uses this telekinesis to appear dead and again escapes a sure death. The sister now has a twenty-five million dollar contract for his capture.
