|Plot Summary of Death du Jour|
Dr. Temperance Brennan, the forensic anthropologist/college professor, travels from North Carolina to Quebec to perform a routine skeletal exam during her students' spring break. However, things quickly become more complicated when several bodies are discovered nearby, burnt beyond recognition and needing her expertise. The deaths are soon connected to a strange place near Tempe's home in the Carolinas, leading to an investigation of a cult, several additional murders, and even the involvement of Tempe's own sister. With the help of homicide detective Andrew Ryan, Tempe believes she has solved the crime - but will she be in time to prevent more deaths?

The protagonist is a forensic anthropologist dividing her time between Quebec and the Carolinas. This story starts in Montreal with Dr Temperance Brennan digging for a long dead corpse in a legal grave. Then her cases escalate, a household fire in Montreal reveals seven bodies, two charred beyond recognition, then two more are found in a shallow grave in the Carolinas. Reichs has a great skill in bring her cases together even the exhumation of a nun is connected to the mass murders that seem to be coming to her lab.
