|Plot Summary of Do You Come Here Often?|
It's Grace Fairley's 31st birthday but her fiancÚ, Spencer, is too busy with his law practice to buy her a gift. At least he arranged for dinner at a restaurant and invited Grace's friends. At the restaurant, Grace sees Jimi Malik, the boy she fell in love with as a teenager, gave her virginity to, and whom she never saw again -- until now, thirteen years later. Jimi, a journalist and aspiring novelist, has been an ultra cool playboy. But he is about to marry 21 year old model, Kylie. His friends are throwing him a stag party at the same restaurant where Grace is celebrating her birthday.
Grace leaves Spencer when he refuses to set a wedding date even though they have been engaged for over two years. She faces the problems of being single like her friend, Rhian, and wonders if she will ever have a man devoted to her like her co-worker, Mariann. Grace and Rhian listen to a radio program called "Do You Come Here Often?" where the DJ gives advice to lonely hearts.
Kylie dumps Jimi just before the wedding. Jimi was supposed to write a travel article about his honeymoon in New York. Jimi, who has become friends with Grace, convinces Grace to go with him on a pretend honeymoon. While in New York, Jimi realizes he has fallen in love with Grace, who only treats him as a friend. Jimi's friend, Clive, who also listens to "Do You Come Here Often?", convinces Jimi he should tell Grace his feelings. But when Jimi goes to Grace's place, he sees she is back with Spencer. Spencer finally sets a date, but then Grace sees that the magic has gone out of their relationship and that the only person she feels the magic with is Jimi.
