Eden Burning Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Eden Burning

Volcanic Scientist Chase Wilcox decides to move to Hawaii in order to study the volcanos, live with his daughter, and prevent his brother's marriage from being destroyed by a gold-digger. Chase is very cynical about women due to his ex-wife, who married him for his money and then abandoned him and their daughter. He believes that all women are liars and sluts, with the exception of his brother's wife. When his brother begins to talk constantly about a beautiful dancer, Nicole, Chase decides that he must prove to his brother that she's just another slut. He bets him that he can get her into bed within the month.

Nicole Ballard, however, is far from being a slut. She was sexually abused by her former husband and has remained celibate for 3 years. But she finds herself drawn to Chase, and believes that he has genuine feelings for her. She decides that he's the perfect man to help her get over her past betrayals. Unfortunately, Chase is too hard-headed to figure out what a wonderful person she is.

They sleep together, and when Nicole learns just what her Knight in Shining Armor believes her to be, she breaksdown and shuts everyone out. After seeing her again, Chase finally figures out that he was all wrong about Nichole's character. She is, in fact, his dream woman. But because of what he's done she has closed herself off to men in general, and him in particular. He must find a way to get past her barriers and heal her wounds if he is ever to be a part of her life again.
