However, The Duke of Westermere, on a casual drive in the park, is not ready for the the crazed woman who jumps in his carriage spouting nonsense and claiming he ravished her. He, in turn, stumps her by promptly announcing she is his fiancÚ.

He quickly learns she has a brilliant mind and that she can be a great help to his criminology work. Marigold is determined to use him to make life better for a near by village.
