Raphael chronicles the difficulties he encountered as a Hollywood screenwriter working with a genius but obsessive and controlling film director. Raphael also provides generous portions of conversations between the two men about moviemaking, sex, war, and great historical figures.
While far from being an exhaustive biography of a well known Hollywood director, Raphael's short book is a window into the labrynthine mind of Stanley Kubrick.
