Feral Helix Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Feral Helix

Christine Drexel died just over eight years ago. Four days after she died she was brought back to life by a machine known as a Regenerator and as a regenerated person she immediately became known as a phoenix. Unfortunately for her she was also immediately considered a deadly threat to other human beings as phoenixes gradually become sociopathic over an eight-year time span and eventually become suicidally dangerous. On the planet Skart phoenixes are not only illegal they are also detested and feared by everyone. Ever since her rebirth Drexel has been hunted by the state, vilified by the people. But she has survived everything the state can throw at her and she's just managing to keep her more suicidal tendencies under control. She's also managed to figure out exactly how the state works, exactly how the five strong Core Committee retain their absolute grip on power, and now she knows her end is near she intends to use her knowledge to turn the planet Skart upside down. In a world where image is all Drexel has become the ultimate enemy. Now she is going to commit the ultimate act. In a weekend of chaos and violence, she does just that - killing the President and destroying the vast state run pleasure park called Zone Central - but at the brink of death Drexel realises that she's merely been a tool of the ambitious Directrix Of Public Education, Nadia Lang, and that even after her death her image will live on - in the service of President Lang of course.
