Reverend Jackson Wilde was shot to death a hotel in New Orleans. ADA Robert Cassidy is at the murder scene working with homicide detective Howard Glenn. The Reverend has been shot three times one each in head, chest and crotch.
Reverend Jackson Wilde used his television program as a forum for his crusade against pornography. His sermons caused his followers to attack artists, writer and other into creative arts.
The catalog for lingerie line French Silk had fallen under Jackson Wilde's censure hence forcing Claire, its creator and part owner into unwanted spotlight. French Silk was Claire's idea and with supermodel Yasmine's help and money had become a renowned brand.
Because Jackson Wilde was targeting French Silk, Claire comes into direct suspicion of his murder. When Cassidy meets Claire he is instantly attracted to her but also thinks that Claire is lying.

Glenn finds a folder on Jackson Wilde in a dumpster near Claire's place and asks her about it. She says that she only wanted to know about him. Cassidy also tells her that he saw Claire in one of the videos of Wilde's show.
Andre Philippi, the night manager of the hotel in which Reverend Jackson Wilde is killed is asked by someone to erase any evidence of someone's presence in the hotel the night of the murder.
Ariel Wilde takes up where her dead husband left off and now she stars in the television program targeting French Silk and others.
Cassidy finds the tape of the call to Andre and he identifies the caller as Claire. When Cassidy goes to meet Claire, she is in a hurry to go to a hotel where her waiting for her lover who will never come.
Claire's father had told her mother to elope but her mother kept waiting at the location but her father never came. Sometimes her mother still thinks that she is eloping only the venue changes. On the night of the murder Mary Catherine went to the hotel and Claire was there to pick her up. She asked Andre to tell no one that she was there. Cassidy thinks Claire is the murderer.
Ariel starts targeting Claire directly and her followers turn violent and vandalize the French Silk office. Cassidy asks Yasmin why she paid a thousand dollars to Wilde.
Yasmine goes to Alister's office and tells him when Cassidy asked about the money, she told him that she was trying to bribe the Reverend for not harming their business.

Claire, Yasmine, Mary Catherine, Harriet and a group of models, a photographer and stylist go to a bed and breakfast for taking the pictures for the new catalog for French Silk. Cassidy shows up there too.
Cassidy tells Claire that during the search of her house voodoo dolls were found in Yamine's room also the fiber found in the reverend's hotel room matches the color of the fiber of Claire's car.
During his stay Cassidy also finds that Mary Catherine takes things belonging to someone else but eventually returns it. On the night of a storm Cassidy sneaks into Claire's room and they make love.
Yamine confronts Alister that he was lying about leaving his wife, they fight, and she yells at him and leaves angrily. Soon after Yasmine kills herself in Alister's house.
Cassidy takes Claire with him to the DA's office in the way he tells her that the gun Yasmine used to kill herself was the same gun used to kill Jackson Wilde. During the meeting with Alister, Claire, the DA and Cassidy are present. Claire admitted to killing the reverend. Suddenly Ariel Wilde appears there and her followers attack the office. Cassidy takes Claire to Claire's old townhouse.
Claire tells Cassidy that Reverend Jackson Wilde was her father. When he was young he had tricked Mary Catherine, got her pregnant, took her money and left her stranded. From that day Mary Catherine had been emotionally unstable.
Cassidy thinks that Claire may have been lying to protect her mother who could have taken Yasmine's gun and killed Jackson Wilde.
Cassidy later tells his boss and Claire that Alister Petrie killed Jackson Wilde who had been blackmailing Alister about his affair with Yasmine.
Cassidy later proposes to Claire.
Best part of story, including ending: I like it because it is very difficult even to guess who was the killer.

Best scene in story: The scene where Cassidy explains to his boss and Claire why Alister Petrie killed Jackson Wilde.

Opinion about the main character: I like Cassidy because even when he doubts that Claire could have been the killer he helps her and tries his best to find the truth.
