This story is about two people who fall in love and beat all odds to be with one another. Fury is New Species. New Species are human whose DNA have been genetically altered with either canine, large cat, or primate DNA. New Species were locked in cages and experimented on by Mercile, a pharmaceutical company who had been developing drugs for the government. Some New Species were freed and have been given a compound called Homeland, where they can live freely. Fury is second in charge of New Speciesand is a New Species Officer.

Ellie worked for Mercile as a nurse. When she found out about the New Species being held she gathered evidence to shut them down. When she killed a guard who was attacking Fury, then framed him for it, she became his enemy. Now she has taken a job at Homeland to be the house mother for the female dorm.
Fury kidnaps Ellie. He takes her to his house where he ties her to his bed, strips her, seduces her and they have sex. She tells him that they are even and leaves. He continues to watch over her every day. Homeland is attacked and Ellie is trapped in a building with the intruders. She is forced to kill two of the men and is almost raped when Fury and his New Species Officers come to her rescue.
Ellie is then fired for standing up for Fury to her boss and leaves Homeland. She immediately has problems with people who are against the New Species. Fury invites to stay with him and they fall in love and she becomes his mate. They have an interview in front of Homeland to address rumors of Fury and Ellie. During the shooting someone shoots at Ellie. Fury covers her with his body, then picks her up and runs back inside the gates. He is shot protecting her. He is given some of the Mercile drugs that helps them to heal faster. A nurse from outside Homeland is hired to monitor and administer the drugs to Fury. She tries to make trouble by giving him a different drug to make him feral, thinking he would kill Ellie. She calms him down and the nurse is arrested by New Species. He recovers, they profess love to one another and make love.
Best part of story, including ending:
You have two people who want to be together, but there are people who are against them being together. I loved this story. Beating the odds to be with the one you love.
Best scene in story:
Ellie pours honey on him and licks it off. Then Fury lays her down on the counter, ties her hands with a towel and pours honey on her then proceeds to lick it off.
Opinion about the main character:
I disliked when Fury was watching the hired nurse vacuum with short shorts on.
