Trina is worried sick over a business deal her senator father has made with shady characters. While on the train to finish the deal, Trina meets the darkly handsome Gabriel McCabe and asks him to protect her father.

While Gabriel is reluctant to take the job on, he is intrigued about Trina. She is a young girl who seems like a spoiled willful child at times, but telling himself that doesn't damper the passion he has.

Giving in to a passionate kiss, guilt bombards him. He came to avenge his wife, he couldn't feel like this. He hadn't bedded a woman since she died over a year ago. Gabriel's heart and desire get the better of him, and soon he finds himself involved in a steamy affair with Trina.

Just when it seems Gabriel is getting closer to his wife's killer, a series of unfortuante events lead to Trina's father being a suspect of land theft and even Trina being kidnapped. Gabriel must fight not only to avenge a past love, but to make sure his new love survives the terror that awaits them.
