Gathering Blue Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Gathering Blue

Kira, lame from birth and orphaned as a young teenager, lives in a brutish, cruel society, where there is no room for the weak, the sick, or the different. Kira survives only because of her skill at embroidery; she is taken to work for the village council, restoring a symbolic robe that is integral to the Ruin Song Gathering, an important local ceremony. As Kira works on the robe, she searches both for the missing color (blue) and the truth about her society and the council members. With the help of two other artists working for the council, and a friend from the village, Kira finds the truth about her world and uses that knowledge to begin to change things.
