|Plot Summary of Glory in Death|
It's the year 2058. Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the New York police is sent to a murder scene where a woman has been murdered. The victim was a district attorney, famous for being tough on criminals and for having a high conviction rate. At first, the investigation focuses on her personal and public life, and Eve tries to find out if any of the criminals she put away could have committed the murder. She also becomes suspicious of members of the deceased woman's family.
When another woman, this one a famous actress, is found murdered in the same way, it becomes apparent they there is a serial killer on the loose, one who seems to be after famous women. Eve decides to use herself as bait and puts herself in the news as much as she can, assisted by a television reporter with whom she has developed a friendship of sorts. The scheme misfires, and an assistant at the TV station is mistakenly murdered instead of the TV reporter.
Just as Eve thinks she has arrested the murderer, the reporter is kidnapped and the chase is on – Eve wants to save her friend, and the murderer wants to kill them both.
This is No. 2 in a series.
