Greenmantle Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Greenmantle

Tony Valenti was caught up in the mafia until the day his boss got hit and he was framed for it. He moved to a rural area in Canada to hide out and avoid the price on his head. Frankie and her daughter Ali have just won the lottery and Frankie has her old childhood home fixed up and moves in. Ali meets Valenti and they become good friends, and both become entranced with the strange pipe music they hear coming from the forests behind their houses. A local man, Lance, reacts differently to the music, instead becoming insatiably horny. Frankie's ex, Earl, finds out about her newfound wealth, and decides to track her down to make her give him the money to fund a drug deal he's involved with in the mafia. He discovers Valenti and calls the families to tell them that he is still alive, so the families send a couple guys to kill Valenti. Meanwhile, both Ali and Valenti wander into the woods behind their houses and find a whole village that seems to be magically separated from the outside world. There they learn of the pipe music and how it calls the Mystery, a being from the other world who is a reflection of what is inside a person, to that person.
