Meanwhile, Eriond, a remarkable child, is growing up in the Vale with Polgara and Durnik as they begin their marraige. When Ce'Nedra does give birth their child is abducted, presumably by the Bear cult. Garion begins an attack but discovers that the child was abducted by Zandramas, and they absolutely must get him back because the prophesy tells them of the evils that could come about!

Then, as he runs of to break up a civil war and keep a few friends from getting killed, his infant son is kidnapped.
