But he is forced to go to Overworld when his estranged wife, known as Pallas Ril, goes "off-line" in Ankhana, a city in Overworld: if he can't bring her back within seven days, she'll die. But the Studio that employs the Actors won't send Caine to rescue Pallas unless he also agrees to kill Ma'elKoth, the Emperor of Ankhana....
