A woman reunited with her first and only love at her tenth high school reunion is the basis of this story. When her parents had their marriage annulled during their last year in high school, she eventually went along with them and moved on with her life, moving out of town. He never moved on. Now he is a self-made success, not the poor boy her parents once disapproved of. I had a really hard time identifying with either of these characters. His whole life he has been driven by this obsession with her, even though she was willing to let her parents dictate her life to her and leave the man (or boy) she supposedly loved. I found myself feeling sorry for him or getting the creeps most of the time. Her subsequent marriage and child figure in the story, but to tell more would take away from the story.
