A Is For Always Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of A Is For Always

Seven years ago Skye Donahue was run out of Rimrock, Oregon by Jonah McKee, the richest man in town. Skye, who was on the brink of marrying Jonah's son, Max, fled town after Jonah threatened to ruin her familys' lives if she continued her relationship with Max. Now, seven years later, Skye has returned to town to buy the medical practice of the town doctor, Dr. Fletcher. Coincidentally, Jonah McKee has just died, the victim of a car accident. When Max goes through his father's papers he finds a letter addressed to him acknowledging that it was Jonah who forced Skye to leave town. Along with that letter Max finds a poignant love letter that Skye wrote to him just before she left Rimrock. Evidently, Jonah seized the letter and made sure Max never saw it. When Skye runs into Max on her first day back in town she is shocked by the sight of him with his 6 year old daughter Hillary. It hurts Skye to realize that Max went right along with his life after she left town. Although Sky assumes that Max is still married, he informs her that he is divorced from Hillary's mother. Although Max and Skye still have amazing chemistry, Max still has major reservations about Skye's past actions. How he can he ever trust her again? As Skye realizes that she is still hopelessly in love with Max she is forced to break down his defenses in order to claim their rightful happiness.
