Eventually her mother takes her to the hospital and she is diagnosed with the HIV virus. She comes clean to them about how she was raped and they realize that Collin had been infected with the virus. Nancy's doctors and parents search for him, but with no success. Eventually the virus develops into AIDS as this teenage girl struggles for her life
