Now Adam is her whole life, except for her not-so-great job, but Alice believes that she is deliriously happy, especially after Adam asks her to marry him. However, Alice's happiness begins to falter when she meets one of Adam's former girlfriends who shows Alice that Adam can be violent. Also, Alice and Adam start getting regular hang-up calls and then anonymous creepy notes. Alice wants to know more about Adam's past to try to find out who is harassing them, but Adam does not want her “snooping” in his life. Alice has to decide whether to be obedient to Adam or risk Adam's wrath to try to find out the truth about what is going on.
