At 23 years old, Megan Miller's days are spent helping her grandfather run Joyland, the family owned amusement park in Myrtle Beach. On the rare occasion when she's not working at Joyland, Meg is immersing herself in her art studio honing her craft and creating beautiful sculptures. When Meg meets handsome and charismatic David Katcherton, aka Katch, at a local market, she is attracted to the goodlooking flirt. When Katch invites her out to dinner Meg turns him down flat when she considers him too brash. When Katch shows up on her doorstep later that evening Meg discovers that rather than hunting her down he has come to speak to her grandfather. It seems Katch has come to make her grandfather a generous offer. Katch is willing to pay a large sum to buy Joyland. Although Meg is adamantly opposed to selling Joyland to Katch, she cannot deny that she finds the man attractive and appealing. As Katch and Meg begin spending more time together Katch discovers that Meg is a talented artist. When Katch purchases two sculptures from Meg he forwards the pieces to his sister Jessica in New York for an assessment of Meg's talent. When Jessica arrives in Myrtle Beach a short while later she approaches Meg about her sculptures and tells Meg that she wants to arrange a showing of her art work in New York. Meg can't believe her good fortune! Although Meg agrees to the art showing, she frets about leaving Myrtle Beach, her grandfather and Joyland. When her grandfather informs her that he has sold Joyland to Katch, Meg is infuriated beyond words. She can't help but feel that Katch has been pursuing her only to get his hands on Joyland. She can't believe that she allowed herself to fall in love with this man. Will Katch be able to convince Meg that his feelings for her are real?
