Marie Carver is burnt out by her job as president of the family business, Carver Software. After tendering her resignation, Marie decides that she needs to leave Arizona, go on vacation and find a purpose in life. Marie changes her name to Mariah Robinson and heads to the resort town of Garden Isle, Georgia. Mariah spends her days taking pictures and doing volunteer work for a local organization Foundations for Families. Mariah strikes up a friendship with a forty-ish British woman named Serena Westford. Unbeknownst to Mariah, Serena is the infamous Black Widow killer whom the FBI has been seeking for some time. Jonathan Mills is sent to Garden Isle in pursuit of the Black Widow. Knowing that the Black Widow has married and murdered seven men, most of whom were old and feeble, Jonathan plans to portray himself as a cancer patient to gain the Black Widow's interest. As part of this plan, Jonathan sets out to meet Mariah, who he hopes will introduce him to Serena. Mariah and Jonathan share an instant chemistry which leaves Mariah thinking about marriage and children. Although Jonathan is falling head over heels with Mariah he can't allow passion to get in the way of his master plan. Jonathan is determined to marry Serena and nail her as the Black Widow killer.
