The experiment called the Source devastated nature by destroying the electric energy grid and changing people into caricature like creatures out of a fantasy while others died. Many have died including those who have trusted weary former attorney Cal Griffen to lead them to the Source so he can shut it down so that this nightmare can stop. He searches for his sister Tina who changed to resemble a fairy and feels he failed his followers because some died. Still he has no time to mourn as his evanescent younger sister Christina the ballerina vanished to wherever the storm floated her like a bubble.
