Marooned in Realtime is a loose sequel to The Peace War - it can be read independently. In Marooned, humanity has, for the most part, moved on, ascended, dispersed - none of the leftovers are quite sure. For one reason or another, mostly bobbles, these people have not moved on; they've banded together and formed a community that travels through time - one-way, using the bobbles' stasis field to pass eons. During one of their trips, a community member is trapped outside the bobble, and must live on her own, without her machines or her people, and wait and hope for rescue. A fascinating concept - she is the victim of a murder attempt, and the murder method is making her live out her natural life marooned in realtime.
