Melody, a girl from England, searches for her American cowboy. Melody thinks she's as average as possible and only wants hers knight and shining armor to come and live happily ever after. After recently moving from England she finds her dreams of American cowboys lacking and spends her free time perfecting her cooking and baking skills and watching any cheesiest romantic movies she can find. Unfortunately for Avery Knight, he finds himself right across from Melody as her new neighbor. Just coming out of an ugly breakup Avery isn't looking for romance, and certainly from Melody who he can tell is desperate for love. After several accidental meetings caused by Avery's naughty puppy, Melody soon gains Avery's friendship and respect for her amazing baking skills, but Melody has more plans. Deciding that Avery is destined to be her American cowboy, Melody and her crazy friend hatch several crazy plans to gain Avery's notice by ridiculous outfits and ruining any date her hope to go on. Through it all Avery is constantly amazed by Melody's sweet nature in contrast with her outlandish schemes. Finally giving up on any hope Melody finally kisses Avery one night as a goodbye to her pursuit of him. Avery is stunned after that kiss: before he had only seen Melody as a sister but now he is forced to consider the growing feelings towards her. After Melody's work catches fire, Avery, a firefighter, rushes to the scene. When he sees her safe and sound Avery realizes that he has been in love with Melody the entire time and both admit their true feeling.
