The main character is Julia Austrian a blind concert
pianist. Her blindness was not caused by physical reasons, but from a psychological disorder. Her sight returns, after 10 years, during a concert in England. But she loses her sight again after witnessing the murder of her mother. She vows to
find the killer, because the face of the killer was the last
thing she saw before the blindness returned.
The hunt for the killer leads her into the conspiracy.
She meets a C.I.A. agent who is looking for the "AMBER ROOM" which was a masterpiece that vanished at the end of World War Two.
The two of them combine forces to track down the killer and the "The Room". This leads them into the conspiracy and, of course, danger. They find the two things, the murder and the Room are connected. From there they are on the run and being hunted.
The characters are great and the action is non-stop. It's a great read. Gayle Lynds is,in my opinion, the best thriller writer around.
