|Plot Summary of Murder in the Blue Room|
First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt must deal with the murder of a beautiful White House Press secretary while juggling her role as the President's wife during World War II. President Franklin D. Roosevelt is host to a Russian delegation which is determined to change the course of the war and may know who committed the murder. He is also sequestered with Admiral King, General Marshall and Lord Mountbatten, who are planning the invasion of Europe.
During the investigation several suspects emerge including a young naval officer, a popular radio broadcaster and even Mr. Rockefeller. Then a second young lady with ties to all the suspects is murdered.
In between looking for clues and interviewing suspects, Mrs. Roosevelt welcomes movie stars as she makes a film for WWII Savings Bond sales. Spencer Tracy makes a brief appearance along with Betty Grable and Abbott and Costello as they receive awards for their assistance on behalf of the war effort.
Captain Kennelly of the Washington D.C. Police Department helps find the murderer but it is Eleanor Roosevelt who has all the answers to "how" and "why".
