It is 1923 and Flying Scotsman, the famous train between London and Edinburg, is on its way to Scotland. Aboard the train are all the relatives of weathly and very elderly Alistair McGowan who has summoned them to visit him. Everyone hopes that Alistair is about to change his will in their favor except for his brother Albert who is currently the sole heir. When Albert is murdered in his train compartment, everyone in the family becomes a suspect. Fortunately, Daisy Dalrymple is also on board, and she and handsome Detective Inspector Alec Fletcher set out to find the killer.
