Mercy (a shape-shifting coyote) must help her mate's ex-wife against a dangerous stalker. Mercy and her Mate/Husband Adam get a call form his ex-wife for help. She is being stalked by a dangerous man that has already killed trying to get to her. So they decide to let her stay with them while they scare him off. Adam is the Alpha wolf of the region's pack. But finding the man becomes harder then it seems.

While this is going on Mercy gets a visit from one of the Grey Lords, the ruling party of the Fae. He wants a powerful Fae object back that Mercy had. The problem is she had to give it to Coyote and it has not come back on its own. So she must also find a way to get a hold of Coyote and return the walking stick. All in a week.
At the same time Christy (ex-wife) tries to re-insert herself back into the home and family she throw away. She plays the victim very well, it doesn't help that the danger this time is very real. But she tries to take over all the cooking and always answering the phone.
It is one of those power antics that almost gets Mercy in trouble. The stalker shows up at Mercy's Garage. She tries to get a hold of Adam to tell him but Christy tells her he's busy. The stalker turns out to be more dangerous then anyone thought. She has to kill one of his dogs to hold him off. It takes Tad, a co-worker and part Fae to stop him. But he gets away.
They later find out that he is a crazed volcano god and he thinks Christy is his long lost love. But Christy believes all of this is Adams fault. That this man is only after her because she told him that she use to be married to a werewolf.
Mercy does get in touch with Coyote, but he also helps out in his own way.
Best part of story, including ending:
I love how the whole story is connected together. Her need to find Coyote is what they also need to help stop the crazed god
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene is when Coyote finally shows up and takes Mercy and her half brother for a walk. This is where he shows them a little more of what they are up again and how the god's magic works.
Opinion about the main character:
I love her. She is strong and normal. Normal in the way that not every woman is beautiful and curvy and some vixen. She uses what she has and screws the rules.
