Although she is overjoyed to be reunited with her firstborn child, she dreads having to tell her husband Nate the truth. 23 years earlier Marge Tate was preganant with Nate's child. Nate was in Vietnam and had been reported as killed in action. Due to the stigma at the time with regards to unwed mothers, Marge chose to give her son up for adoption.

When Nate eventually came back to the States and married Marge, she never had the heart to tell him that she gave up their child for adoption. When Nate comes face to face with his grown son, Sean Hardin, he is shocked to the core. How could Marge have lied to him for all these years? How can he ever forgive her. As Marge struggles to make her husband understand her past choices she fears that she has lost the love of her life.
