Raging Roots Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Raging Roots

Tara Ervin journeys to the Georgia town where she believes that she will find the secret of her birth. A child left up for adoption many years earlier, Tara comes back to discover the identity of her father, believed to be one of the white men for whom her mother, a domestic, worked. Tara becomes infatuated with the local minister, runs afoul of other "sisters" interested in him, and becomes the talk of the town with her mysterious comings and goings. Along the way, the young woman uncovers a less-than-reputable "spiritual healer", and finally makes a revelation about her ancestry.
