Revelations Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Revelations

This is the story about a girl that is thrown into the world of supernatural creatures when she becomes a vampire and has to navigate the social and hierarchical scene to see where she fits even though treachery is everywhere within her new found family. Schuyler Van Alen becomes a blue blood vampire and now she has to throw her old life away for the new one, while trying to hold her own against schemes for power in the blue blood family. There are different emotions and feelings which she must become accustomed because of the change from humanity but she is also struggling with the love that she has for fellow blue blood who happens to be off limits to her; Jack Force. She has even chosen her best friend Oliver to be her familiar. This means they have a bond known as imprinting between the two of them which is sealed by drinking each others blood.

Schuyler has to move into the Force home because of the injustices that have happened in her grandfather's place. She gets more contact with Jack at this time and inevitably falls in love with him once more as predictably as the script follows this path. On the other hand, she also has his twin sister Mimi Force to contend with, and the two become enemies very quickly. Mimi takes advantage of a situation to downplay Schuyler's right to the blue blood family when it is found that her lineage may belong to that of the silver bloods, which is an enemy race.

Dylan, who is part of the blue blood family returns Bliss and claims that Schuyler attacked him and killed another blue blood. Bliss on the other hand, puts herself in the position of being a peacemaker and suggests that Dylan may actually be possessed and she asks her father who is a senator to help him. However, her plans are brought to light and it seems that it is her who is behind everything. Schuyler is then forced to end her relationship with Jack because she feels it is causing more harm than good.
Best part of story, including ending: I like this story because the main character Schuyler, was a human that managed to transform into a vampire and within a short time affect the fates of a whole family of vampires, who have been ruling for quite some time.

Best scene in story: I like the scene in chapter 43 where Lawrence is supposedly fighting Dylan but when he kills the man who appears to be Dylan, the man shape shifts into someone else. At this time a man in a white suit at the scene shape shifts into Dylan and it is revealed that it was a trap and that Lawrence has killed one of his own. The deviousness of the plot is quite interesting and thought provoking.

Opinion about the main character: I do not like that the main character, Schuyler, does not put her personal happiness ahead. For example, in the end she decided to end her relationship with Jack Force.
