Penelope Featherington has been in love with Colin Bridgerton for most of her life. Unfortunately, Colin only sees her as a friend of the family. Colin never really paid much attention to Penelope; other than "rescue" her by dancing with her at most of the ton's balls. Who would really give Penelope a second glance, she's overweight and the poor girl usually has a dress on that seems to magnify her flaws rather than flatter her. To top it off, Penelope is almost always a subject in Lady Whistledown's gossip columns.

While Penelope is nursing her secret love for Colin, the object of her heart, spent most of his time abroad to avoid his mother's campaign to marry him and also, to get away from the stifling atmosphere of the ton. When Colin finally came back to London, he found that Penelope was not the wallflower he remembered her to be; she has become a very attractive woman. A woman whose ready wit, sharp intelligence and deep brown eyes are arousing feelings in him that he never thought he would feel.
"Romancing Mr. Bridgerton," another installment in the Bridgerton series sparkles with Julia Quinn's lighthearted humor, heart felt romance and a fresh take on the "ugly duckling" tale.
